En route
When I wrote, the moment had already passed. When I drew, the subject had already passed. While driving, my thoughts turned faster than the engine of my car. From one train of thought I lapsed into another. It was while driving that I found inspiration. The images and texts are an interpretation of my landscape, of the environment in which I grew up and still wander. My way of moving led to a specific form of looking. Through two eyes straying from the road, my graphic gaze saw schemes in the concatenation of houses and coteries. Contrasts between modern and old manifested themselves, and the reflections in my windshield made me reflect. One reflection after another slid across my windshield and the same movement took place in my mind. And so the rhythm of the brick road determined my writing and creating. It gave rise to a new way of taking in my surroundings.

I designed this tear-off calendar, for the year 2022, together with 3 other artists. Poetry and illustration come together in this work. Every week was given a different illustration and every day the drawing grows little by little, to form a total picture on Sunday.
